Before The Fall

Miriam Kimani

He brings me glory , I bring him favour. You’re probably wondering, who is he? I wondered too. When it was just a prayer of the kind of design it was meant to be. When the sweet lyrical words of songs of Solomon and the banner of love that’s meant to be risen over me was an unknown status and I wondered whether the prayer was realistic enough. In a world where love is stirred up before it’s time. Even though the Songs of Solomon tells us ‘do not stir up love until it’s time.’ It sounds all sweet right? I’d be flattered too but, let me walk you down the road I call THE TEST BEFORE THE FALL.

Miriam KimaniThis, it’s not even the regular test that you take and you know you’re about to fail due to lack of revision.
They often say this is the only test you get a licence for without practicing. I beg to differ… the practice comes in the time before you fall. I’d like to hope I’m not the only one who’s ever hated the invigilators -who’d stand staring at you waiting for you to turn your head around as if you wanted to find an answer to a question you didn’t understand. Truthfully, the majority of the time, many of them did not know the answer.

We all think we know it. But I’ve realised that we’re all invigilators when it comes to the test before the fall.
People often say I’ve fallen in love then I’d ask what happens when you’re no longer in that love.
Did you jump up-out of love? Or what?
Mind puzzling!
However, if you’ve never liked that invigilator like I never did, here’s your chance to take the power and beat that one thing you hated being on your neck.

The test before the fall is the first step we often skip when we think we’re in a relationship, at least until you realise it was a situation-ships (just a dream), you entertained through your peripherals.
Without the test before the fall, I’m still trying to fathom how you can relate with what you don’t know? It’s a sailing ship without a direction.

Miriam KimaniYou’re probably wondering what is that test before the fall.
I’ll ask, have you ever wondered how patient they are?
How kind they are?
Or do they just boast? How patient are you, kind or do you just boast? I’ve wondered and realised that no one wants to hear the harsh truth but rejoices in hearing the sweet melodies that becomes a lyric to the heart. Let me scatter your mind a bit, my bad! It’s not me it’s….
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.”

The test before the fall doesn’t just apply to you testing them, it applies to you testing you’re self too. I’ve often heard a lot of people base their points on how much HE should consider HER feelings but I am quickened to respond isn’t HE a human with feelings too? The test before the fall is a fragile box that holds the hearts upright to be handled with care should you choose to carry them… I’ll leave this here for now.
P.S Stop entertaining every smile that passes your peripherals!
Happy Valentines!
